The first dress design from Leigh General Store is this simple smock style with a slant pocket and mid-length sleeve. The one-piece bodice and sleeve design, with an over-the-head neckline, are what make this a really quick sew. This silhouette fits a wide range of people and can be worn over-sized, as a regular fit, with an elasticated waist or as a smock top. Adjust the fullness of the skirt as you wish, to suit the fabric you are working with and the aesthetic you prefer. The workshop includes your own copy of the Day Dress pattern which retails for £19.99. Join us to make a dress in one day.

We recommend you try on the sample garments before you select your pattern size: no more guesswork and hoping it will fit. You can do this by visiting our studio by arrangement in advance, or on the day of the workshop.

Suitable fabrics include linen, chambray, seersucker, gingham, cotton lawn/poplin, double gauze, viscose challis, polyester crepe and needlecord.

Fabric Requirements: 2 x your required length from shoulder to hemline plus 10cm.
